My name is Juan Rubio and my background is in film and animation. I am completing my MA at The New School in December. I am interested in documentaries and in virtual worlds. I also like to write short stories and have completed a full-length screenplay. I am also very active in Second Life where lately I have done ethnographic research as part of the New Media Ecology class with Jason Pine. I am also developing my building and scripting skills there.

I thought i had already posted my intro but now I don't see it. I must have done something wrong.

My name is Theresa or Terry - I get called both. I live in Orlando, FL and this is my last semester. (I think!) I have been working at my degree online since 2005.

Daylight hours I sit in a cubicle and design web pages for a huge global corporation. It's an engineering firm &, I am here to tell you, that Dilbert is really really true; it's not a cartoon at all!

My name is Maria Laino-DeLuca, I live in Long Island NY and am currently working as the Director or Strategic Marketing for Bravo Media. However, I really feel that I'm an entrepreneur at heart. I'm an MA student in the Media Studies program and am interested in learning more about Virtual Learning environments.

I'm Alison. I live in NYC but chose to take summer courses online for the flexibility and the new experience. I am 24, from Massachusetts, and have a BS in broadcast journalism and post-war history from Boston University.

My background is in public broadcasting - I worked for a national distributor of PBS programming before moving to the city last fall to start my graduate degree. I currently work in the development office at The New School.

She is also interested in the process of cultural exchange through creative interplay in virtual spaces, which led to founding ZoomLab and initiating the Kidz Connect program, which connects students internationally via creative collaboration in virtual worlds such as Second Life. Josephine currently teaches at the New School, where she received her M.A. in Media Studies in 2006. She was a Fulbright scholarship recipient and an artist-in-residence at the Waag Society for Old and New Media in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and continues her involvement with Fulbright as a member of the Board of Directors. Performances include interdisciplinary productions for the ISEA and Romaeuropa Festivals as well as speaking engagements at SIGGRAPH, Queen's University in Belfast, and London Knowledge Lab. Josephine is also a technical trainer and consultant; her clients include Banc of America Securities, HSBC and the United Nations. Upcoming ventures include Fractor, for which a MacArthur Foundation award was received, and several mixed reality projects involving dance theater, motion capture analysis and Second Life performance. Josephine’s experience ranging from theater for at-risk children to technology and design, brings perspectives on theater-inspired collaborative methodologies as well as the issues of working within a virtual context.
