Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to say that last night was so interesting and fun. I really enjoyed the presentations, and I just feel that Global Potential is such an awesome concept and program. It makes me want to do more as far as educating myself on global issues and being more involved in volunteerism. I definitely have taken away a lot from this course, and I can’t thank Josephine and the rest of the class enough for helping me grow as a Media Studies student but also as a person.

Group 2 – Thank you for being such a pleasure to work with and for taking so much initiative. Everyone was so organized and on top of everything. It really made bringing all of the elements together much easier than some of the group projects I’ve done in the past.

Anyway, I just wanted to express my feelings and to say thanks again! I also love that our information is on the wiki’s, so that we can access it when class is over. I would like to share our projects with family and friends and spread the word about Global Potential as much as possible.

    Hi All,

Watched the SL vid of the final presentations. Great to see and hear the presentations. Hope the vid of my ugly mug didn’t scare the children or horses. Since I worked with Group 2, I won’t comment except to say it was a fun and productive working experience. This group project went much better than the attempted group project in a previous online course I took.

    Comments on Group 1 presentation.
    1. You’re absolutely correct in that the alumni will need to volunteer and take ownership of the FB page. I think the questions you posted will be an excellent starting point that should allow for a lot of traction to build among users.
    2. Excellent idea to pose the page as a place for current students to seek help from alumni. Gives the alumni a reason to check on the page more often. And a stronger motivation to stay involved.
    3. Micro-donation was an interesting idea. Keep the alumni involved by fund raising.
    4. I wasn’t sure why the logo contest had to be so democratic if the intent is to chose the best logo anyway.? But that’s a very minor quibble.
    5. Very nice overall presentation despite a few sound/echo issues.

The group photo at the end was funny. Does a recorded image of a virtual meet-up count as a meta-image since the virtual world depicted is really just an image to begin with, i.e. you recorded an image of an image.?
